Food waste is a global crisis.
Our part starts hyper-locally.
The world tosses 1.1 billion tons of food a year. Most of it leaves homes and small businesses — one bag at a time.
That's exactly where we can fix it.
Food Finder helps neighbors pass along extra food before it gets thrown out — same street, same day. Doing our part, one porch handoff at a time.

the problem
Food waste is huge.
Not "a little wasteful." Not "kind of a problem." It's one of the largest, most embarrassing, most fixable crises on the planet — and almost all of it leaves ordinary kitchens, one bag at a time.

No government program is going to fix this. It gets fixed the same way it got broken — one household, one block, one handoff at a time. That's the part we can actually do.
before you toss it…
Don't throw it out. Pass it on.
That pang you feel when good food hits the trash? You're not wrong. Someone on your block would happily put it to use — they just don't know you have it. Snap a photo, post it, hand it off. That's it.
The loaf of bread you won't finish before it goes stale
The unopened pantry items still sitting in the back of the cabinet
The produce from your garden you can't possibly eat in time
The grocery haul you over-bought before a trip
The cans, jars and snacks left over from a party
The kids' lunch box items they've decided they don't like
30 seconds to post. Zero food in the trash.
You already feel guilty throwing it out. Now there's something better to do with it.

do your part · hyper-locally
Less waste. Right here.
Right now.
You can't fix global food waste from a headline. You can fix it from your fridge. Food Finder makes it easy to hand off the extra loaf, the unopened pantry items, the garden overflow — to a neighbor who'll actually use them.

also for…
Farmers, gardeners & local growers.
The backyard tomato vine that won't stop. The CSA box overflow. The market-day leftovers a small farm doesn't want to truck back home. Food Finder works the same way for growers as it does for households — post the surplus, a neighbor picks it up, nothing rots in a crate.
- Backyard gardens with too much zucchini, basil, or eggs
- Small farms with end-of-market produce
- CSA members with extras they can't use this week
- Orchards and fruit trees in the middle of a heavy season
a real one…
"Six pounds of heirloom tomatoes left after the Saturday market. Posted them at 2pm. Gone by 3."
built for everyday sharing
Simple, real-life moments.
Food Finder is designed for the small, everyday surplus — extra groceries, unopened items, or a garden you can't use in time. Members decide what to share and how to share it. Clear communication and thoughtful choices help keep the experience positive for everyone. All items are shared directly between users, at their own discretion.
the only rules
Unopened.
Sealed packages, factory-sealed produce bags, unopened jars and bottles. If it's been opened, it doesn't belong on Food Finder.
Not expired.
On or before the printed date. Sharers who post expired food get removed from the platform — no warnings, no exceptions.
