Community Guidelines

Last updated: May 4, 2026

Food Finder is operated by Food Finder LLC, a Florida limited liability company. These guidelines apply to every interaction on the platform and exist to bring neighbors together and reduce food waste.

1. Be honest about food

  • Describe food accurately — what it is, when it was made, how it was stored.
  • Disclose major allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, sesame).
  • Never list food that is spoiled, recalled, or that you would not eat yourself.
  • Do not list alcohol, cannabis, controlled substances, raw milk, or items prohibited by law.

2. Be safe

  • Meet in safe, public locations when possible.
  • Bring someone with you for first-time meetups.
  • Trust your gut — cancel any exchange that feels off.
  • Never share food you suspect could cause harm.

3. Be kind

  • No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination of any kind.
  • No doxing or sharing other users' personal information.
  • Communicate respectfully — assume good intent.

4. Don't misuse the platform

  • Food is free. Always. No payments of any kind are allowed between members — on the platform or off the platform, mandatory or optional. That includes tips, gratuities, "thank-you" payments, donations, suggested contributions, reimbursements, gift cards, cash, digital transfers (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, crypto, etc.), goods, or services in connection with shared food.
  • No commercial resale without written permission.
  • No spam, scraping, or automated activity.
  • No impersonation or fake accounts.
  • No solicitation outside the food-sharing purpose.

5. Reporting

If you see a violation or feel unsafe, report it immediately to safety@foodfinder.com or use in-app reporting. We review reports promptly and may remove content or accounts at our discretion. If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

6. Enforcement

Violations may result in warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent termination without refund. We may also report illegal activity to law enforcement. Decisions are at our sole discretion.

7. Governing law

These Community Guidelines, and any dispute relating to them, are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. See the Terms of Use for venue and arbitration provisions.
