DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Food Finder respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the "DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512, we will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement committed using the Food Finder platform that are reported to our Designated Copyright Agent identified below.

1. Designated Copyright Agent

Notifications of claimed copyright infringement should be sent to our Designated Agent:

DMCA Agent — Food Finder LLC
Email: legal@foodfinder.org
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice

2. Notice of Infringement — Required Elements

To be effective under the DMCA, a notification of claimed infringement must be a written communication that includes substantially the following (see 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works);
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access disabled, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., a URL);
  4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

False notices. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. Do not submit a takedown notice for material you do not in good faith believe infringes your copyright.

3. Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed (or access disabled) in error, you may submit a counter-notification to our Designated Agent that includes substantially the following (see 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access disabled;
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of that person.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complaining party. Unless the complaining party files an action seeking a court order against you, we may, in our discretion, restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days.

4. Repeat-Infringer Policy

Food Finder will, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, disable and/or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright. We may also limit access to the platform and/or terminate accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

5. Reporting Other Content Problems

For non-copyright content concerns — harassment, fraud, unsafe food, illegal items, or community-guideline violations — please use the in-app report button on the relevant listing or profile, or contact legal@foodfinder.org. See our Community Guidelines for what is and is not allowed on the platform.

6. Modifications

We may update this policy at any time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
